This couple amazingly planted millions of tree for 20 years, many people were surprised with its results!

It was not unknown to many people all over the world that the number of trees here on Earth decrease from time to time because of constantly cutting down trees. This actually causes global warming, landslides, and even flood. But when each one of us would plant even a single tree a year, it can really help a lot in helping our Mother Earth. Just like this couple who planted trees for 20 years that resulted in an amazing outcome.

After several years that Sebastio Ribeiro Salgado had been assigned in Rwanda, this photojournalist wanted to be in his home in Minas Gerais in Brazil where he grew up. Their place was surrounded with a lot of plants and trees. He really wanted to see his home there to rejuvenate and relax because of too much stress he was experiencing in Rwanda. But he was very shocked to witnessed that his beautiful and green hometown doesn’t have many trees anymore. He didn’t have the time to relax anymore as he was very disappointed in what he saw.

“The land was s!ck as I was- everything was destroyed. Only about 0.5% of the land was covered in trees. Then my wife (Lelia) had a fabulous idea to replant this forest. And when we began to do that, then all the insects and birds and fish returned and, thanks to this increase of the trees I, too, was reborn- this was the most important moment, ” Salgado said. It was in 1998 when they established an institution to revive the forest. They had team-up with some volunteers to once again plant more trees and help the environment revived its abundance before. Since then, they were able to plant 2.7 million trees in 1,507 hectares of land. When all the trees grow and the forest returned to its good condition, a lot of animals, birds, and insects also returned.
